Harem pants: hottest new fashion trend or recycled MC Hammer pants?

Fashion is pretty subjective, and right now I think harem pants look less like something hot and trendy and more like you've got something hot and steamy piled up in your drawers. I'm no expert, but this new trend looks suspiciously like the same pants MC Hammer broke it down in back in the early '90s.
Do you think harem pants are hot or uh oh, uh oh, STOP, are they just a sad retread of Hammer pants?
