Maybe it's just me and how I like to be organized... but I'm seeing tons and tons of duplicate ToTs on the site. And I'm not talking comparing Justin Bieber to poo or Eminem to Lil' Wayne - I mean the same comparisons are popping up about every week. Cats vs dogs? Summer vs Winter? Brazilian vs the Sphinx? And so on... So, do you do us all a service and search before you ToT (yes, now in verb form) or do you post your goodness away and snuggle yourself into a Snuggie coma no matter how many times it's already been posted to the site?

there may have been someone (ahem) who suggested that ToT do an autosearch when you post an item and make suggestions if the question has already been asked (iPhone v. Blackberry, Werewolf dude v. Sparkly Vamp, etc), but was nixed. Of course, if you can't spell it that could be a problem.

Yeah, We talked about having ways to avoid duplicates. It's a hard problem to solve. And then we realized that people may want to create ToTs to share with their friends and ask the same question in a smaller context.
We decided to let duplicates stand. The good ones stand and live on and the chaff falls away...

Agree, you want each person to be able to ask a question and share... but it does inundate the rest with of the good ones with the drivel. But then again, it'd be pretty funny to see say, how many times certain questions have been asked. For example, only about five "chicken or the egg" questions asked to date.

I think it's wise to research before you post...BUT there are some who deliver the TOT way better than others from what I've seen ;)
