Did atheists steal Christmas in Santa Monica?
Background:
For 57 years, a church group in Santa Monica has rented out public space to present an expansive Nativity scene during the Christmas season. It has become a tradition in the city until this year.
Many in Santa Monica are angry over what is being called a manipulation of the rules after a group of atheists, most of whom were not even from Santa Monica, rented out the majority of the spaces usually taken by the Nativity set up. The group openly stated that their intention was to prevent the church from having such a wide area to promote Christianity.
The Nativity scene is still on display, but now condensed down to a much smaller variation than ever before due to lack of room.
Was this an acceptable case of presenting their cause as non-believers, or did these atheists overstep their bounds and bully a town out of an innocent Christmas tradition?

I mean seriously!!! Let people believe what they want to believe! If people want to believe in Allah, fine! If people want to believe in God, fine too! If people want to believe in flying banana's, ok! We shouldn't condemn what others believe. It's rude, degrading and just pure irritating. I am a Christian and I have many atheist friends. They don't care that I'm Christian. We can hold conversations about religion (not that we do often, but we have) and we never get angry at each other or tell each other "You're wrong." I say I am a Christian, they say they don't believe in God, we don't have a problem with each other. Why do we have to argue about it? And what's even worse is how people find it wrong to advertise beliefs. The purpose of advertising (in this case) is to get more believers. What exactly is so wrong with that? What is so wrong if one person sees this nativity and decides on their own account to become a Christian? He decided HIMSELF that he wanted to believe in Jesus and decided on his own account to become a Christian. It's not like the church put a gun to his head and threatened his life if he didn't choose to become Christian. What's the difference to atheists if some people become Christian. It has hardly an affect. It just comes down to illogical thinking on behalf of those atheists who were involved in this.
... I can't believe I wrote that much O_O What a rant XD

It's not like the nativity tells non Christians "Your beliefs are wrong, this is the truth." No. It simply states "This is what we believe." What's so bad about that.
Oh by the way, I'm not angry at atheists in general... Just the particular ones in this event. I don't have a problem with atheists... I mean we're all humans with different beliefs, those beliefs don't make you a better or worse person. Just as much as atheists don't have 100 percent proof that God is fake, I don't have 100 percent proof that God is real. It just comes down to a matter of opinion. You can go either way and neither way can be proven right nor wrong, so why must we condemn the other side?
And why am I continuing to rant? xD
