Like it or not, 2010 may be remembered as the year the Tea Party became a mass movement in America. Thankfully for us, Tea Party supporters have produced a bunch of really bad rap videos, often chock full of white people dancing horribly. To honor their contribution to American musical culture, This or That presents our Top 7 Tea Party Rap Videos.

7.  The Uncle Sam outfit of the year award goes to... the Nanny Tax Rap by the Tax Foundation. I honestly still don't know what the Nanny Tax is and I've watched the video 19 times.  I'm just mesmerized by the Uncle Sam costume.

6.  The popularity award... goes to the Wolverines with their "hit" O.T.P (One Term President), which registered an amazing 156,000+ views on YouTube. I don't think we can say it better than YouTube commenter ThanksSaintJoseph, who stated proudly: "Hard core birther here too! But i'm not too sure barry's gonna be a one term 'president'." Don't forget to buy the bumper sticker!

5.  The WTF? award... goes to tea-party rap hero Polatik with his Tea Party Rap. "Eight months ago I was walking through low income communities that are plagued by big government socialist programs." Rapping starts at 1:45, with the classic yaaaaaah! opening. Certainly the highest quality tea party rapping we found. Enjoy!

4.  The fake out award goes to... The LiberTEA Party Rap. It's not about the Tea Party or Big Gubm'nt at all! It's just an ode to the simple pleasures of tea. Sample lyrics: "Haters wanna say coffees better, but they dum as rock / Tea aint no beverage, its the lifestyle of a baller." Indeed, it is.

2 (tie). The not rap (but required viewing) award is a tie between... Lloyd Marcus and the Bailout song. Lloyd Marcus appeared at Tea Party rallies all across the country to let everyone know that he is not an African American. Please try to suffer at least to the 1:00 mark so you can see the background dancing, which is beyond words.

Speaking of background dancing...we had to also give props to the singer of the Bailout song for seamlessly dropping "instant gratification" into her lyrics. Very Eminem-esque. Also, as a bonus, she wins the maniacal laugh award (after "just charge it!" at 0:40).

1. And, finally, the very best tea party rap video... easily goes to the Twitter Gangster Rap Video with Rob McNealy. Where do we begin?  Let's start with a little bio. Rob McNealy was a Congressional candidate running as a Libertarian party candidate for Colorado's 6th District (which coincidentally contains This or That's world headquarters). Turning to the video itself... From the first frame to the last, this is pure gold. We love that he took the time to not only register TwitterGangster.com (unfortunately now defunct), but to also make a custom graphic with the Twitter bird & "TG" gold chain.  Naturally, he also created some "fly" logo merchandise, which you can apparently still buy.

No, things like this aren't why Libertarians have trouble going mainstream.  Not at all.

Special bonus honorable mention goes to... the Intolerable Acts Rap.  We actually found quite a few videos about the Intolerable Acts, the British laws that were issued as a response to the original (some would say "real") Tea Party in 1774. This was the best, from the "Cracker Entertainment Television" intro to the baseball bat swing at the car (so close!) to the Burger King headed regent. Just chock full of awesome.

Debate It! 3

I was just about to block @RobMcNealy until I listened to his rap and realized I shouldn't because he's not a wankster. Also the jeans tucked into the combat boots is about as far from STREETS as it gets.

We still have to see if the Tea Party people are any different than Republicans or if they will just fall into the same old pattern.

I agree lockheed40. We do have to see if they will stick to their guns or if they will become the bailout sellouts of years past. I am a Libertarian as well as a Constitutionalist. But honestly, everybody needs to understand that what the government stooges are selling us is a false left-right paradigm. There are no two parties. There is only the illusion of separation. Think of it like professional wrestling (WWE, TNA etc.) they are at each other's throats when on camera, but when they are done, they are the best of friends. I think that Lewis Black said it best when he described the two-party system as a bowl of s**t staring in the mirror at itself. This is all done to get people infighting and not focusing on the issues at hand. Think about when Bush was in office, he was Republican, and he tripled the size of gov't and now that Barak Obama (a.k.a. Barry Soetoro) he is continuing the same crap and going even further.
