During baseball's modern era, there have been just 18 perfect games. It's one of the rarest and greatest achievements in sports, but when compared to the quest for perfection in the fast-paced world of competitive putt-putt, perfect games in baseball are downright commonplace.
Last month, 53-year-old Rick Baird became just the third person in the sport's history to play a perfect 18 holes of putt-putt, racking up 18 consecutive hole-in-ones during round 2 of The Richmond Open at the Putt-Putt Fun Center. After a drought of nearly 32 years, with 18 players falling just one stroke short, this IT-Professional and 2007 Pro Putters Association champion became a part of history.

For anyone who didn't happen to be at The Richmond Open when it happened, you can relive the magic of the 18th hole through the video below. Plus, Network World recently published an interview with Rick Baird in which he dissects his perfect game and the reaction following his achievement.
Regardless of the relatively paltry fan base for professional putt-putt, shooting a perfect round is still an impressive feat. Unlike pitching a perfect game, it might not be a shoe-in for the Sportscenter lead, but it's arguably just as difficult a task.
So, the all important question, what do you think? The numbers would favor Rick's accomplishment as the more difficult of the two. But Americans love their baseball, and I suspect popular opinion will side with tradition.
