Pretend to Care Moment of the Week: The Beatles are Now on iTunes

Apple's been teasing a big iTunes announcement, so when they unveiled that The Beatles' catalog is finally available for download, the expected fanfare was, uh, nonexistent. The Beatles holdout went on for so long that most of us said "Eff it" and either digitized their CDs or downloaded tracks from Pirate Bay or other sources. It seems embarrassingly late to the party for Apple to make such a big fuss about finally offering The Beatles in their library when they could have just issued a press release and gone about their merry way.

I bet four Halloweens from now, Steve Jobs will dress up as the dude from The Hangover.

The announcement was teased with with statements released from Apple that read, "Tomorrow's just another day. That you'll never forget." Incomplete sentences aside, it's amusing to see exactly how far up their own ass this company is to think the only way we could have ever possibly listened to The Beatles was if they provided their music to us via their wondrous and godlike iTunes. You stay self-absorbed, Apple.

Now that The Beatles are finally on iTunes, it'll be interesting to see whether Kid Rock's 15 fans will clamor for him to finally cave so that we can all experience the joy of actively choosing to not download "Bawitdaba."

Are you excited that iTunes will now carry Beatles tracks?

This would be a big deal if, you know, I didn't already have the Beatles catalog.

Posted By AmyCapolupo,

The Beatles catalog has been available on Limewire for a decade and they didn't even make an announcement.
