The article even stated that "one chef reported seeing a cook pour lamb's blood into a vegan's primavera," which leads me to believe that some chefs intentionally sabotage a vegan or vegetarian meal just to be dicks. Others are probably just too lazy or busy to find a vegetarian-appropriate substitution. Either way, that awesome flavor you veggie lovers are tasting is probably cow ass. Just sayin'.
I'm sure vegetarians feel duped, but to me this doesn't seem that much different than the shrimpy water Orthodox Jews are drinking in New York City. In that instance, it's a problem that can be solved with a water filter, and the vegetarians can avoid the meat sneak by going to vegetarian-only restaurants or by not eating out.
