Are we getting dumber or is the education system flawed?

Easy to blame a large bureaucratic system for the faults of millions of people because it is a target that is easier to hit with a criticism. Changing it, and the laws that protect the poor performing schools from consequences, is harder to do and requires personal committment. Ultimately, I chose that people are dumber in my vote because they expect others to actually care about whether or not they get educated. Parents have to care first and foremost about their childrens education and demand it. And secondly, children have to be taught to value education so they demand it and can tell when they are not getting it. Teachers are people and, as with the rest of us, just as dumberer.

Its not that the kids are dumber. its that they dont want to put in the effort to do well in school...

i say it's a mixture many are losing the will to be educated, then entertainment in music, T.V., and other forms of entertainment are sending the wrong messages, and the education system has changed over time they need to get used to it and push the students to succeed

The education system is a failure. Schools do nothing but waste their money on pointless things and in the end do nothing for students.
